OLIVIA ROSE NOEL
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
Olivia was a roommate, a leader, a loving friend and sister. She was born on June 20, 1995 and came to Moravian for her studies. Second semester of her freshman year, she joined Alpha Sigma Tau, along with the Desireable Dozen pledge class. She immediately showed us all what true sisterhood was like. Later, she took on leadership, becoming the Director of Ritual and becoming a member of the college's Panhellenic Council. She helped guide another 12 members into the sorority, one of which became her very own Little in her newly created family, the Leopards.
Olivia passed away from a pre-existing heart condition the summer of 2015. Congenital Heart Disease is a rare disease; at a young age Olivia was undergoing open heart surgeries. A memorial service was held at the college and a private dedication ceremony took place at the sorority house. Her memorial website can be found here.
Forever in our hearts, we cherish our time with Olivia and search for ways to honor and celebrate her life with her now gone. Our local philanthropy was recently changed to the American Heart Association to help raise awareness on heart conditions similar to Olivia's and help in the prevention of fatal heart diseases. On April 1st, 2016 an event called Jump for Olivia was held to raise money for the Olivia Noel Schoalrship Fund and the American Heart Association. The chapter managed to raise over $2200 at the fundraiser, in honor of Olivia. Photos can be found for the event in the gallery.
Also, the Olivia Noel Memorial Fund was created by her family. This fund will be used to support areas of the College that were important to Olivia including student scholarships and philanthropic activities associated with Alpha Sigma Tau sorority.
Gifts may be sent to: The Olivia Noel Memorial Fund, Moravian College, 1200 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
